For some of its tapes, Nastrotex-Cufra uses yarns made from recycled plastic bottles.
The yarn is entirely made from post-consumer recycled materials through a mechanical process that involves no chemicals and is certified 100% Made in Italy throughout the supply chain.
The range of yarns used includes several that are sophisticated in terms of innovation and permits a large number of textile applications.
The tapes created with them are not only sustainable but also attractive and high performance.
Briefly how it works
- Plastic bottles are recovered from differentiated waste collection in the north of Italy.
- Once the plastic bottles have been cleaned, cut and shred into granules, a mechanical process is used to transform them into the Newlife™ polymer.
- Sinterama uses its technological know-how gained through years of experience and research to convert the polymer into a range of high quality and high performance recycled yarns, suitable for a wide variety of applications.
The recycled yarns guarantee the same level of performance and quality as the polyester yarns made from virgin polymers that are normally used on the market.
