Performance Days 2026, the new Nastrotex-Cufra technical rubber bands

March 18-19, 2026 | Hall C2 – Stand W16

On March 18 and 19, 2026, Nastrotex-Cufra will be present at PERFORMANCE DAYS in Munich, the international trade fair dedicated to technical materials for clothing and footwear, with a stand dedicated to the latest developments in the Versatility 2026 campaign.

This edition will focus in particular on three new elastic solutions designed for technical sportswear, cycling, and activewear, developed from Nastrotex’s must-haves, in line with the Versatility 2026 campaign.

The goal is to offer brands and designers increasingly targeted design tools that combine lightness, sustainability, and comfort while maintaining the Made in Italy production quality that has characterized Nastrotex-Cufra since 1953.

VERSATILITY 2026

Versatility 2026, the common thread of new developments

The three new features presented in Munich are part of the Versatility 2026 campaign, a project that focuses on the versatility of elastic bands as an aptitude and working method.

After covering must-haves in this dedicated news, Performance Days represents the next step, in which the same technical foundation evolves into three new products even more specific to next-generation performance garments.

N42 EXTRALIGHT, lighter for cycling and running

The first new feature is N42 EXTRALIGHT, an evolution of our N42 item, already recognized as a must-have for cycling clothing thanks to the balance between stability, comfort and customization possibilities.

With the N42 EXTRALIGHT, the goal is to offer style offices an even lighter elastic band, ideal for leg bottoms, panels and functional edges in cycling and running garments where every gram counts.

Main features

Weight of only 14 grams.
Ultra lightness for performance, cycling and running garments.
Reduction of the overall weight of the garment.
Same elastic and stability qualities as N42 in a 10% lighter version.

N42 EXTRALIGHT was created for those looking for materials capable of combining performance, comfort in contact with the skin and a visual perception of extreme lightness, while maintaining reliability and production continuity.

T53-10 BIO 100%, bio based and comfortable

The second new feature is T53-10 BIO 100%, a completely bio-based development of the T53-10 BIO article, already a reference point for technical sports clothing.

In this new version, the elastomeric component is replaced by natural rubber, maintaining the technical performance unchanged but with an even more advanced sustainability profile compared to article T53-10.

Main features

Made with natural rubber instead of elastomer.
More sustainable alternative than T53-10 BIO.
Same technical performance as the reference article.
Super soft and extra comfortable touch on the skin.

T53-10 BIO 100% is part of Nastrotex-Cufra’s journey towards increasingly sustainable materials, in line with the company’s dedicated strategy and the needs for outdoor collections and performance that require supply chain transparency, certification, and reduced environmental impact.

Polypropylene push&pull tapes for the new activewear

The third product focus concerns elastic ribbons with polypropylene yarn, among the lightest ever developed by Nastrotex-Cufra.

These solutions are born within the High Tech collection and are designed for activewear, running and outdoor garments that require maximum perspiration and thermal control in conditions of intense use.

Main features

Push & pull technology for effective moisture management.
Fast dry quick drying.
Light weight reduced weight.
Possibility of production in solid, two-tone and jacquard colors.

The combination of lightness, insulation, and the ability to transfer moisture outward makes these rubber bands particularly suitable for technical garments that must communicate with the athlete’s body while maintaining constant comfort and performance over time.

From the fair to the project, how to request samples

During Performance Days it will be possible to see and touch up N42 EXTRALIGHT, T53-10 BIO 100% and the new push&pull polypropylene tapes, as well as a selection of Versatility 2026 must-haves dedicated to technical sportswear.

However, work with brands does not end at the fair. The Research & Development department accompanies customers from sampling to production, turning every request into a concrete project.

To learn more about customization options and request dedicated samples, you can start from the personalized elastic bands page or fill out the form in the contact section.

Performance Days 2026 will be an opportunity to meet the Nastrotex-Cufra team in person, discover the latest Versatility 2026 developments, and begin building new projects together with versatility.

Versatility 2026, our must-haves

In a market where innovation is often measured in invisible but crucial details, Nastrotex-Cufra chooses to tell the story of its approach through a campaign that is first and foremost a declaration of method. Versatility 2026 is not just a creative theme, but a real lens through which to read the company’s daily work: building custom-made elastic solutions, starting from the must-haves that have made our history.

Versatility as positioning

For Nastrotex-Cufra, versatility is not a passive adaptation to current trends, but rather an active and cultivated attitude over time. The company, founded in 1953, has made elasticity its genetic code; in fact, every product, every tape, every technical development is designed to meet heterogeneous demands from different markets and sectors.

A brand language for an industrial production reality

The 2026 campaign adopts a vision typical of large fashion brands: a value-based storytelling, a guiding color (Pantone Cloud Dancer), and a cross-cutting narrative that links identity and innovation. This choice positions us distinctively because we want to speak as a manufacturing company that also speaks to creative teams and product managers as a project partner.

Must-haves as a starting point

Each industry has its own «ideal elastic» that we call must-have. When we receive a commission or a project we always start from a proven, reliable base, which has proven to perform over the years. With Versatility 2026, we enhance our must-haves, making them protagonists of a personalization journey that translates into concrete, tailored technical solutions.
For footwear, the reference articles are 3895, Honeycomb pattern and cintino, depending on the application.
For the clothing sector, the must-have is the item 768, chosen for its versatility and adaptability to different styles and functions.
In the cycling and technical sport sector, Nastrotex-Cufra offers two reference products: article N42 (N42 RIGATO and N42 BRINATO) and article T18-08, both designed to ensure performance, comfort and durability.

Cloud Dancer: The Color That Welcomes

PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is the guide color chosen to represent this campaign. A neutral shade like a blank canvas that does not impose a style, but leaves room for function, creativity, differentiation. The Color Pantone 2026 is perfect to represent a blank sheet, the start of a new project.

One campaign, many sectors

Footwear, clothing, technical cycling, sports, outdoor: Versatility 2026 is designed for a single market as a flexible container within which each sector finds its answer. A single message, expressed in multiple languages.

We look forward to seeing you:

Yarn-dyed: where color meets responsibility

At Nastrotex Cufra, every elastic tape — whether designed for footwear or apparel — is produced with mass dyed or yarn dyed. This choice is fundamental, both for the quality of our products and for the environment.

How it works:
In yarn-dyeing, each filament is colored at its core before weaving. The pigment penetrates the fiber deeply, creating colors that are more intense, stable, and resistant over time.

The advantages of yarn-dyeing are clear:
– Lower environmental impact: water and chemical consumption are reduced because only the yarn is dyed, not entire tape rolls. This leads to fewer wastewater emissions, with less contamination.
– Superior color performance: pigments penetrate into the fiber, ensuring maximum solidity, greater resistance to washing, UV exposure, and abrasion. Colors remain vivid and faithful.
– Less waste: optimized use of dyes and resources means fewer rejects and scraps, creating a more efficient and sustainable process.
– Better aesthetics and reliability: elastic tapes maintain consistent shades and performance across applications, whether for footwear, sportswear or lingerie.

For us, choosing mass or yarn dyed over piece-dyeing is more than a technical detail, it’s a responsible decision.

Interview with Mario Cucchi

Covo, 16 September 2025
Thank you Mario, you who with dedication, love and loyalty gave life to all this.

Thanks to your generosity and determination you have been a fixed point for us, a constant help and an example to follow. You faced every challenge forcefully until the end and the memory of your wisdom and inexhaustible vitality will always remain alive in our hearts.

70 years of history is a long time. If you had to describe the 70 years of your company in one word, which one would you choose?
A life. CUFRA. Cufra stands for Cucchi brothers. Name that has never been abandoned and always accompanies Nastrotex.

How did you come to decide to start the company? At what age did you start working?
She arrived so suddenly, Lanzini in Romano di Lombardia had a business and decided to sell. So then my dad, Francesco Cucchi, jumped and decided to buy the two looms that Lanzini was selling off. I started working at the end of fifth grade, so I was about 10 years old. I had to leave my studies and get straight to work, I was the eighth of 11 siblings.

Do you remember any episode that determined your choice or that put you in difficulty in managing the company?
One episode I remember is when I had to leave the company because I had to have spinal surgery in Bologna. I was still lying for 1 year, then I started again for 4 months I did 5min of standing and then lying down again and so gradual until I started again completely. Here I had a great deal of help from my brothers, who by being street vendors were able to go to my clients and sell the rubber band. A great hand was given to me by my wife Maria and her brother Mario who continued the company during this period.

Who were the most important people in your family who, with their contribution, have determined the success of Nastrotex-Cufra to date?
My children, Barbara and Roberto and my wife Maria. In summary my family.

What are the most significant episodes of your history in the company?
That day I first saw a ribbon with the word come out of the frame. That word was “senor” it was white background and gray writing.

Are there any obstacles that Nastrotex-Cufra encountered along the way? And if so, which ones and how did you overcome them?
Obstacles are always found. In a company there are obstacles and with holy patience you have to face them. How many times was it that I came home late to eat because I had to solve problems… the hours weren’t counting.

The worst times and the best times.
One of the best times was I remember when there was a craze for elastic belts at the waist and we had a huge workflow, customers came here very early in the morning to load the material. No effort… clients came along like that effortlessly. The millerighe, the 3895…these were the items that went the most.
One of the worst times layoffs… lack of work…

What, in your view, were your merits in the growth and affirmation of Nastrotex-Cufra?
The attachment and love to my work. I never held back even when I had to make sacrifices.

The places of Nastrotex-Cufra: how much did the territory influence the birth and development of the company?
With the opening and growth of Nastrotex-Cufra we have employed 50 people in the area. We moved to covo da Romano di L.dia we exploited the depressed area, which allowed us to build without paying immediately but with longer deadlines.

What is really important, what are the values you want/want to convey as a business?
Erasure the ego, work more in a group to advance a single goal.

What is the relationship with the workers and employees of the company?
I consider my relationship excellent, I always try to give it the right advice and most suitable for the job they do.

What advice would you give to an audience of young people who dream of being entrepreneurs?
Having a reputation not just for cashing in… but for remembering people.

Grandpa, how come you would like to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered for what I did, especially for the people, to be able to help those in need. Thinking about the nutrition center in Malawi, it fills the heart to see all those children jumping, singing, dancing, having nothing.

Nastrotex Cufra logo evolution

Nastrotex Cufra logo evolution

Nastrotex Cufra boasts over 70 years of experience in the production of elastic ribbons. It was founded in 1953 by Francesco Cucchi and his son Mario. We started by producing elastic bands for local haberdashers, then in 1963 Mario Cucchi founded Cufra Srl, which evolved into the current Nastrotex Cufra S.p.A.

Over the years, our logo has undergone several transformations, reflecting our growth and adaptation to market trends. From the first versions, which emphasized the artisan tradition, we have moved on to more modern and minimalist designs, symbolizing our projection towards the future.

Today, our logo represents the union between experience and innovation, fundamental values that guide our production. This evolution not only tells our story, but also underlines our continuous commitment to excellence and sustainability.

While maintaining the yellow color, we have introduced new color variations, such as undergrowth for sustainability, sugar paper for research & development and beige for collections.
